   Windows Server 2012 Loadfest – Free full day of training. May 31st 2013 @ Microsoft's Cambridge Office

   Friday: May 31 (all day)

   The Boston Area Windows Server User Group (www.WindowsBoston.com) is sponsoring a training class “Windows Server 2012 Load Fest” for their members and the local technology community.  The topic will be how to install and setup Windows 2012 and Hyper-V 3.0

   The primary focus will be on Windows Server 2012 but other operating systems (Windows 8) may be covered as well.

   The presentation will be put on by volunteer steering committee members and local technology leaders Dan Stolts of Bay State Integrated Technology, Inc. (www.BayStateTechnolology.com) and Clyde G. Johnson, the president of the Boston Area Windows Server User Group.

   The event will be held at Microsoft’s facility at 1 Cambridge Center in Cambridge MA on Friday May 31st. This event will be heavily sponsored by Microsoft and there will be NO fee.

   The first half of the training will be a lecture style meeting were we will discuss the new features included in Windows 2012, the installation process and also discuss the new version of Hyper-V

    

   The second half of the meeting will give you a chance to bring in a system of your own and to either install the operating system on bare metal or to install it as a dual boot to VHD.

   Registration starts at 8:30 am.  The Loadfest will be from 9 am to 4 pm.  The location is the 1 Cambridge Center Microsoft Offices, where we have our regular meetings.  There will be NO cost for this event.

   IT-Pro User Group Meeting – June 19, 2013 @ New England Institute of Technology (Hall of Fame Room)

   Wednesday: 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

   May 15, 2013 at 7PM Jack Daniel – The state of security (or lack thereof) and the implications for small to mid-sized organizations. Jack is an open source and security expert and does a great presentation.

   The IT-Pro Users Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping IT Professionals keep their skills on the cutting edge of the industry. Established in 1993, we are an official Microsoft user group but also support most other operating systems and technologies. The goal of the group is to pool our knowledge and resources so our members stay informed about technology, security, best practices, innovations and procedures. Everything an IT pro needs to keep their career moving forward.

   Our meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each Month, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at New England Institute of Technology, NEW LOCATION – East Greenwich Campus
